Kong to Join Philosophy Faculty
The Department of Philosophy is excited to welcome Youjin Kong to our faculty. Dr. Kong will be joining the department as an Assistant Professor in August 2023. She achieved her PhD at Michigan State University and she specializes in social/political philosophy, feminist philosophy, and the ethics of artificial intelligence with a focus on social identity and gender and racial justice.

In Memory of John Granrose: 1939-2022
Department of Philosophy Professor Emeritus John Granrose passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023 at his home in Yorkshire, England at the age of 83. Dr. Granrose taught Philosophy at UGA for 27 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a visiting professor at Keele University in England and the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany, as well as an avid musician and accomplished magician.
